Following an incredible holiday to South Africa in 2004, I set about sharing my experiences of this beautiful country with some of the Kent Group of the Hardy Plant Society by organising a tailored springtime wild flowers tour in August/September 2006. The interest in the tour was so overwhelming that I had to run two consecutive two week tours to accommodate demand. Whilst the tour had a predominantly botanical slant, the guests were amazed by how much else the region had to offer, from the Cederbergh mountains, Koysan rock art and Whale watching to West Coast beaches, wine estates and African penguin colonies. Upon our return (and in some cases before) I had a huge amount of expressions of thanks - letters and cards, many of which asked me when the next tours were and where would they be, and at that point it occurred to me that there was an opportunity to share these wonderful experiences with other people on a larger scale, and so I formed Green Routes to cover the administrative side of organizing these trips. Feel free to browse the website and have a look at some of the photographs and memories of this beautiful country - on our tours page - I have also included a sample itinerary for your perusal. If you have any questions or would like to receive some information on our forthcoming tours please contact us. We are looking forward to hearing from you. Colin Moat, Green Routes Worldwide Ltd |
